Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Maharashtra today for two significant events. He will lay the foundation stone for the Vadhvan Port project, valued at approximately ₹76,000 crores, in Palghar and will also address the Global Fintech Fest 2024 in Mumbai.
In a message posted on X, PM Modi expressed his anticipation for the visit: “I look forward to being among the people of Maharashtra tomorrow, 30th August. I will take part in programmes in Mumbai and Palghar. In Mumbai, I will participate in the Global Fintech Fest 2024 at around 11 AM. This platform showcases India's strides in the world of Fintech and brings together key stakeholders of the sector. Following this, I will head to Palghar for the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Vadhvan Port project. This important project underscores our commitment to port-led development and the progress of Maharashtra.”
The Prime Minister will begin his day by addressing the Global Fintech Fest 2024 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai at 11 AM. The fest, jointly organized by the Payments Council of India, the National Payments Corporation of India, and the Fintech Convergence Council, will feature around 800 speakers, including policymakers, regulators, senior bankers, industry leaders, and academics. The event will host over 350 sessions and showcase the latest fintech innovations, with more than 20 thought leadership reports and white papers being launched.
Later in the day, at around 1:30 PM, PM Modi will move to Palghar to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for various development projects at the CIDCO ground.
