"PM Modi to Inaugurate Seven AIIMS Worth Rs 10,000 Crore in 10 Days"

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya announced on Thursday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to lay the foundation stone and inaugurate seven All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) over the next ten days.

These seven AIIMS, collectively costing around Rs. 10,000 crore, will include medical and nursing colleges alongside the hospital facilities.

PM Modi will commence the series of inaugurations by laying the foundation stone of AIIMS Rewari on February 16. This institute, built at a cost of Rs. 1,650 crore, will feature a hospital complex with 720 beds and an additional 30 beds for the AYUSH Block. It will also house a medical college with 100 seats, a nursing college with 60 seats, and accommodation for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) students.

Following this, AIIMS Jammu, with an estimated cost of Rs. 1,828 crore, will be inaugurated on February 20.

The remaining five AIIMS will be inaugurated on February 25, including AIIMS Kalyani (Rs. 1,754 crore), AIIMS Mangalagiri (Rs. 1,618 crore), AIIMS Rae Bareli (Rs. 1,200 crore), AIIMS Rajkot (Rs. 1,195 crore), and AIIMS Bathinda (Rs. 925 crore).

Mandaviya highlighted the significance of these inaugurations, emphasizing that residents of these seven states and union territories will no longer need to travel to New Delhi for tertiary medical care.

He further stated that each of these hospitals is anticipated to witness an outpatient department (OPD) footfall exceeding 10,000 patients per day, reflecting the crucial role they will play in providing healthcare services to the populace.
