Plea to speed up SIPCOT land acquisition

Madurai: The All-India Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Tuticorin, has appealed to the State Government to expeditiously acquire land for the development of SIPCOT Industrial Estate.

According to the chamber President, Mr J.P. Joe Villavarayar, an acquisition of another 2,000 acres for the proposed expansion of the estate would facilitate more number of industrial units to be set up and help accelerate the economic growth of the region.

An apparel park should be sanctioned at the readymade garment cluster at Puthiamputhur.
