Patna Metro Priority Corridor Set for September Inauguration by PM Modi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to return to Bihar in the third or fourth week of September to inaugurate the priority corridor of the Patna Metro Rail. This will mark his seventh visit to the state this election year, following his trip on August 22 to launch development projects worth ₹13,000 crore.

The inauguration will open the first phase of the 14.45 km-long Priority Corridor II (Blue Line), which includes a 6.49 km elevated stretch with five stations: Malahi Pakri, Khemnichak, Bhoothnath, Zero Mile, and New ISBT.

The project is nearing completion, with three metro coaches already manufactured in Pune and transported to Patna last month. Preparations are underway to begin services on the completed stretch. Sources indicate that construction at three of the five stations is expected to be finished by mid-September.

Trial runs on the new line are scheduled to begin in the first week of September. The inauguration was initially planned for August 15 but was postponed to allow for the completion of the remaining work. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar recently reviewed the project's progress, inspecting the metro depot at Bairiya and the under-construction Zero Mile station, and urged officials to expedite the work.
