Patna DM Announces Double-Decker Road and Metro Completion by 2025.

Patna District Magistrate (DM) Chandrashekhar Singh announced on Wednesday that the 2.2km double-decker elevated corridor and metro rail services will be operational by 2025.

The elevated corridor, which will connect Kargil Chowk to Patna Science College, is nearing completion, with 93% of the foundation work, 83% of the substructure, 53% of the superstructure, and 60% of the approach path already finished. Singh confirmed that the project will be completed by February 2025.

During an inspection of the project, the DM also highlighted the progress of the construction of six underground metro stations, including Akashwani, Gandhi Maidan, PMCH, Patna University, Moinul Haque, and Rajendra Nagar. He assured that metro services will be available for residents by 2025.

Singh also addressed challenges faced by the Bihar Rajya Pul Nirman Nigam Limited (BRPNNL) officials, with the DM visiting the site to resolve any issues. Regarding the service road for the double-decker project, he confirmed that the 51 affected shop owners have been informed to relocate by Saturday. BRPNNL has already built new shops for these businessmen at matching sizes.

Additionally, Singh instructed the Patna Metro Rail Corporation to shift their barricades by four meters to facilitate the construction of the double-decker corridor. He noted that BRPNNL is encountering difficulties in constructing 7-meter-wide service roads near Patna Science College due to the ongoing metro work.
