Patel Engineering JV Secures ₹1,090 Crore Irrigation Project in Maharashtra.
Patel Engineering Limited (PEL) announced recently that it has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) for a ₹1,090.45 crore irrigation project in Maharashtra. The infrastructure company will execute the project in a joint venture, with PEL holding a 20% stake valued at ₹218.09 crore.
The contract, awarded by the Maharashtra Krishna Valley Development Corporation, involves constructing a pipeline distribution network for the Nira Deoghar Right Bank Main Canal from kilometers 87 to 135, along with its distributaries and minors. The project will be carried out in Kalaj village, Phaltan taluka, Satara district.
The scope of work includes excavation, pipe trenching, supply and installation of pipelines, placement of various valves, chambers, and outlets, as well as testing the pipeline system. Additionally, the contract covers a five-year operations, repairs, and maintenance period following project completion.
With a 36-month timeline for completion, this project further strengthens PEL’s infrastructure portfolio. The 75-year-old company has a legacy of delivering over 85 dams, 40 hydroelectric projects, and more than 300 km of tunneling works across India.
