OMC Power Expands into EV Battery Repurposing Through Honda Partnership.

OMC Power has entered the emerging field of repurposed electric vehicle (EV) batteries to provide energy storage solutions across a range of market segments, a top company executive said.

The company, which is already active in rooftop solarisation, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), greening telecom infrastructure, and mini-grid development, aims to leverage its expertise to scale the new initiative.

“Repurposing EV batteries is a very new application area in India. Probably we would be the first one to do it with Honda Motors Japan,” OMC Power co-founder and CEO Rohit Chandra told PTI.

The collaboration signals a growing interest in sustainable energy storage solutions, as India seeks to enhance the lifecycle use of EV batteries while supporting renewable energy adoption.
