Odisha to Sign 25 MoUs for Food and Beverage Units This Fiscal.

The Odisha government is planning to sign at least 25 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) in the food and beverages sector during the current fiscal year, according to Hemant Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary for Home, Industries, and I&PR.

Speaking from Bhubaneswar, Sharma said the sector—designated as a priority area—has seen strong growth and rising investment interest in the state. He noted that 33 industrial projects have been proposed for 2025–26, with a total estimated investment of ₹7,655 crore and the potential to generate 14,532 jobs.

Progress is already underway on several fronts. Eight projects have been grounded, accounting for ₹3,815 crore in investments and creating 16,165 employment opportunities. Additionally, nine projects have been inaugurated, bringing in ₹2,404 crore and generating 3,731 jobs.

As part of its broader push to strengthen the sector, Odisha also plans to establish 10 mega food parks across the state.
