"NTPC plans to establish a ₹10,000 crore coal-to-SNG plant in Chhattisgarh."

State-owned power major NTPC plans to set up a coal-to-synthetic natural gas (SNG) facility in Chhattisgarh with an investment of around ₹10,000 crore, a senior company official said.

The company is exploring technology tie-ups for key processes, including coal beneficiation and gasification, to enable the production of synthetic natural gas, the official said, requesting anonymity.

NTPC is targeting a production cost of around $12 per million British thermal unit (MMBTU) for SNG, the official added.
