Nov 5 Date for T-Hub Inauguration.
The T-Hub, India's largest incubator for start-ups, would be inaugurated by Ratan Tata, chairman emeritus of Tata Sons, on November 5.
A major initiative of the government of Telangana, the T-Hub will start functioning with 100 to 150 start-ups on the IIIT Hyderabad campus. Already, an American start-up has started functioning on the premises utilising the facilities provided by the technology incubation centre. The first phase of the project will have a built-up area of 70,000 sq ft.
The decision to open the T-Hub was taken at a meeting convened by IT minister KT Rama Rao at the Secretariat recently. The minister also directed architects and T-Hub officials to expedite the works on the second phase of of T-Hub coming up near Durgam Cheruvu area in the city.
The second phase would have a built-up area of 3 lakh sq ft. Rama Rao discussed the plan and facilities to be provided at the second-phase building. Once the second phase is completed, the first phase of T-Hub will be shifted to the second phase. The existing first phase T-Hub building having 70,000 sq ft space will be handed over to IIIT, sources at T-Hub told Express.
The T-Hub is a novel concept of the state government to promote entrepreneurship. It will be the largest facility for start-ups in the country. The T-Hub will provide one central location for start-up community and investors to network, learn, communicate, share and make deals.
