North Delhi Power to light more than thousand households in Delhi

North Delhi Power to light more than thousand households in Delhi New Delhi: North Delhi Power Ltd (NDPL), a joint venture of Tata Power with the Delhi government, commissioned a solar power plant installed by Tata BP Solar.

It consists of more than 5,500 solar photovoltaic panels made of crystalline silicon. These would absorb sunlight and convert it into electricity, to be directly fed into NDPL's main grid line.

The panels are designed to work for 25 years. This 1 Mw unit is designed to produce 1.58 million units of electricity annually, sufficient to light more than 1,000 homes.
