NH 47 works to be completed by July.

Widening of National Highways (NH) 47 from Chengapalli to Neelambur and from Madukkarai to Walayar is expected to be completed by July 2014.

An official of the NHAI said completion of works on section one - from Chengapalli to Neelambur - requires four months for completion (120 working days) and section two - from Madukkarai to Walayar - needs seven months.

If funds are available, the contractor is confident of completing the project by the end of July. All the legal issues have been cleared and works have been expedited. Meanwhile, some of the industrial and voluntary organisations are expected to join hands and focus on specific infrastructure works in the city. Widening of NH 47 has been given several extensions and it should not be delayed any further.
