New gear plant planned by Spicer India

Pune: Spicer India , a joint venture company of Dana Holding Corporation, US, and Anand Automotive Systems, is planning to set up a
hypoid gears plant and a testing centre at its facility in Chakan near Pune.

The greenfield plant will be operational in May 2011 and have an installed capacity for producing 2.4 lakh gear-sets annually.

At full capacity it will employ approximately 130 skilled people. Dana has developed the AdvanTEK series of axles to meet its requirements and plans to manufacture them in India.
