NCRTC Begins DPR Process for Ghaziabad-Jewar RRTS Link to Jewar Airport.

The proposed 72.44-kilometre Namo Bharat Ghaziabad-Jewar corridor has moved to the Detailed Project Report (DPR) stage, paving the way for a faster public transport link to the upcoming Noida International Airport, NCRTC Managing Director Shalabh Goel said.

The corridor will connect Ghaziabad with Jewar Airport, passing through Noida, Greater Noida and the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region. The project is expected to improve connectivity across one of the fastest-growing urban and economic zones in the National Capital Region (NCR).

According to Goel, the fourth Namo Bharat regional rapid transit corridor will have 12 stations and two depots at the northern and southern ends of the route. The project, estimated to cost around Rs 20,640 crore, has been planned to support rising passenger demand between Delhi-NCR cities and the airport.

"Ghaziabad-Jewar and Noida-Faridabad-Gurugram corridors are in the DPR stage as of now," Goel said in an interview.

The corridor will be designed for a maximum operational speed of 180 km per hour and is expected to reduce travel time between Ghaziabad, Noida and Noida International Airport to around 40-50 minutes.

The proposed stations on the corridor include Ghaziabad, Ghaziabad South, Greater Noida West-Sector IV, Greater Noida West-Sector II, Knowledge Park V, Surajpur, Pari Chowk, Ecotech VI, Dankaur, YEIDA North-Sector 18, YEIDA Central-Sector 21 and Jewar Airport.

The Pari Chowk station will provide interchange connectivity with the Aqua Line of Noida Metro, enabling passengers to access different parts of Noida and Greater Noida. The YEIDA Central-Sector 21 station will offer connectivity towards the upcoming Noida Film City area.

The corridor will also integrate with the existing Delhi Metro network, with commuters able to access the Ghaziabad Namo Bharat station through the Red Line, creating a seamless link between Delhi and the airport corridor.

Meanwhile, the proposed Noida-Faridabad-Gurugram Namo Bharat corridor is also under DPR preparation. Goel said several states are exploring similar regional rapid transit systems to address increasing urbanisation and mobility needs.

The other priority Namo Bharat corridors — Delhi-Panipat-Karnal and Delhi-SNB-Alwar — are expected to receive approval from the Government of India soon. Preparatory activities, including geotechnical investigations, utility mapping and shifting of critical infrastructure such as Extra High Tension (EHT) lines and water pipelines, have already begun to facilitate faster execution after approvals.

Goel added that the Economic Survey of India has highlighted the potential for developing nearly 2,900 km of Namo Bharat corridors across the country, which could strengthen regional connectivity and support expanding urban centres.
