Naidu invites CEOs of Indian companies to set up base in Amaravati.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has invited CEOs of Indian companies to set up office in Amaravati.

Delivering a special address to the Indian community ahead of the World Economic Forum Annual Summit, he said 'We are working towards building the most liveable city. Working with us will help increase your productivity.'

During the meeting in Zurich, he also explained his vision to build one of the best, blue and green cities in the world, according to a statement from the Chief Minister's Office.

Rahul Bajaj, Chairman, Bajaj Auto; Vishal Sikka CEO, Infosys; Sunil Mittal Chairman, Bharti Enterprises; Ajay Piramal, Chairman, Piramal Enterprises Ltd., and Tulsi Tanti, Chairman, Suzlon, were among the 100 CEOs who attended the event.

Given that India enjoys a demographic dividend over other aging economies, he urged the members to take advantage of Young India in making the country a global economic powerhouse. The Chief Minister said India is progressing rapidly and that Andhra Pradesh has become a favoured investment destination .

The Chief Minister also said its long coastline gave Andhra Pradesh an advantage that would support port-based development. This, he said, gave the state the advantage of becoming the logistics hub for South-East Asia.

He said the success of the CII Partnership Summit has bolstered the State’s brand. It would soon emerge as an industrial and innovation hub.

Later, he elaborated on the State government’s innovative practices to bring in transparent governance and explained the efforts made to digitise government services.
