Nagpur Airport PPP Upgrade Gets Cabinet Nod with Lease Extension.

The Union Cabinet has approved a lease extension for Nagpur International Airport, paving the way for its modernisation under a Public Private Partnership (PPP) model.

The decision marks a significant milestone in the development of the airport under the Multi-modal International Cargo Hub and Airport at Nagpur (MIHAN), an official statement said.

Under the approved arrangement, MIHAN India (MIL) will be able to license the airport to the concessionaire GMR Nagpur International Airport Ltd (GNIAL) for a period of 30 years.

The move is expected to enable long-term infrastructure planning and upgrade works at the airport, strengthening its role within the broader regional aviation and logistics ecosystem.
