MRF Partners with Tamil Nadu to Establish Massive Tyre Manufacturing Facility in Sivaganga.

Chennai-based tyre manufacturer MRF Ltd. recently signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Tamil Nadu government, facilitated through its nodal agency, Guidance, to establish a greenfield manufacturing facility for automotive tyres and allied products at the SIPCOT Industrial Park in Sivaganga district.

The proposed project, planned over a 12-year period, is expected to involve an estimated investment of ₹5,300 crore and generate direct employment for around 1,000 people, according to the company’s stock exchange announcement.

MRF noted that the MoU is non-binding and contingent upon the Tamil Nadu government sanctioning a customised incentive package, providing infrastructure support including land, and granting necessary statutory approvals for the project.
