Monolithisch India commissions first phase of Purulia plant expansion, boosting capacity to 206,000 tonnes per annum.
Monolithisch India Limited has commissioned the first phase of its expansion program (Capex-I) at its manufacturing plant in Purulia, West Bengal, increasing its installed capacity to 206,000 tonnes per annum. This capacity boost strengthens the company’s leadership in the unshaped refractory materials segment, particularly catering to the rising demand for ramming mass products essential for India’s steel industry.
Despite adverse weather conditions, the company adhered to its commissioning schedule. Over the next 10 days, pre-runs and quality checks will be conducted to ensure smooth operations and consistent product quality.
The expansion aligns with Monolithisch India’s strategic focus on scaling operations, adopting next-generation technologies, and emphasizing sustainability and customer-centric innovation. Managing Director Harsh Tekriwal described the commissioning as “a new chapter” for the company, highlighting investments in technology, infrastructure, and talent to enable more efficient and sustainable steel production.
