Micromax to set up new manufacturing facility near Shmashabad.

Mobile phone maker Micromax will set up a manufacturing facility near Shmashabad in Rangareddy district with an initial investment of Rs. 80 crore. Co-founder of the firm Rajesh Agarwal received a permission letter with relevant approvals from Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao recently. The facility is expected to create 1,250 jobs.

Karbonn and Celkon, two other major Indian mobile players, have also announced plans to set up their manufacturing facilities in Telangana. Karbonn said it would invest Rs. 450 crore on the facility, while Ceokon started off its production with a smaller facility recently.
