Mangaluru-Shornur railway line electrification to be over by next March.

Electrification work on the Mangaluru-Shornur railway line will be completed by March 2017, according to Naresh Lalwani, Palakkad Divisional Railway Manager of Southern Railways.

Participating in a railway review meeting convened by the Member of Parliament from Dakshina Kannada, Nalin Kumar Kateel, in Mangaluru on Friday, Lalwani said that work on the electrification of the railway line between Mangaluru and Shornur is in progress. The electrification work up to Mangaluru Central Railway station will be over by March

The stretch from Mangaluru Central and Mangaluru Junction will be completed by March 2018.

He said that works worth ₹2.67 crore have been taken up at Mangaluru Central railway station.
