Male Gov to build ports in 15 islands

Male: After assuming that Rf 300 million will be spent on projects to build harbours and for land reclamation work in some 15 islands, the Construction Ministry has revealed the 15 islands where harbours will be built. The islands selected for harbour and land reclamation project 2006 and 2007 are Haa Alif Utheem, Thaa Veymandoo, Haa Dhaal Kulhudhufushi,Vaavu Felidhoo and Noonu Kendhikulhudhoo.


In addition to that Kaaf Thulusdhoo, Raa Maakurathu, Shaviyani Milandhoo, Kaaf Maafushi, Baa Thulhaadhoo, Alif Alif Rasdhoo, Lhaviyani Hinnavaru, Meemu Mulah, Laamu Maamendhoo and Gaaf Alif Nilandhoo have also been selected for the projects.


The list of islands was made available on the Construction Ministry’s website along with a statement. The statement said that out of the islands selected for the projects, Felidhoo harbour was nearing completion and that 85 percent of work had been finished
