Mahipalpur bypass in fast lane, PWD seeks approval for project.

A proposed bypass from Mahipalpur to National Highway-8 has been sent to the Ridge Management Board for approval, with the preliminary survey and alignment work having been completed by the Public Works Department (PWD).

The bypass will reduce congestion along Mahipalpur, besides providing relief to motorists headed to Indira Gandhi International Airport from South Delhi.
Once the board gives its approval, the proposal will be sent to the government for administrative and financial approval.

'We have sent the proposal for the construction of the bypass from Mahipalpur, near Ryan International School, till NH-8 to the Ridge Management Board. The preliminary survey and alignment work for this project have been finalised. There was also a proposal by the Airports Authority of India to construct an internal road near the airport, which will connect with the bypass and provide direct access to the airport,' an official said.
