Lucknow Metro Expansion Gets ₹5,801 Crore Cabinet Nod.

The Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has given its approval for Phase 1B of the Lucknow Metro Rail Project in Uttar Pradesh. The project is estimated to cost ₹5,801 crore.

Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Ashwini Vaishnaw, announced the decision, stating that the new phase will cover a route of 11.165 km and include 12 new stations. Of these, seven will be underground and five will be elevated.

Upon the completion and operationalization of Phase 1B, Lucknow will have a total active metro rail network of 34 km, significantly expanding the city's public transportation infrastructure.
