L&T to Boost Industrial Electronics Operations at Coimbatore Campus.
Engineering major Larsen & Toubro (L&T) is expanding into the industrial electronics segment with the launch of a new business vertical, L&T Electronic Products & Systems (LTEPS), and plans to base its manufacturing operations in Coimbatore.
The company has already initiated production activities at its 40-acre campus in the city, where two printed circuit board (PCB) assembly lines have been commissioned. These lines are currently focused on manufacturing DC-DC and AC-DC converters used in chargers, including fulfilling initial orders from within the L&T group.
“We have a 40-acre campus in Coimbatore, and we have commissioned two lines of PCB assembly… now starting off with making DC-DC and AC-DC converters,” said Prashant Chiranjive Jain, Head of Corporate Centre at L&T, in an interaction.
Looking ahead, the company plans to further expand its footprint at the site by constructing a larger facility. A ground-plus-three building spanning around 20,000 sq ft is set to come up within the same campus, supporting the scale-up of its industrial electronics business.
