"L&T bags mega-contract from Petronet LNG for onshore hydrocarbon works."
L&T’s Hydrocarbon Onshore business vertical (L&T Onshore) has secured a significant Lump Sum Turnkey (LSTK) order from Petronet LNG, a joint venture promoted by ONGC, Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), GAIL (India), and Bharat Petroleum Corporation (BPCL).
The project entails engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of a 170,000 cubic metre LNG/Ethane double-wall storage tank and a 140,000 cubic metre Propane double-wall storage tank at the Dahej Petrochemical Complex. The scope also includes ethane and propane handling and dispatch facilities to support the Propane Dehydrogenation and Polypropylene plant.
This initiative forms part of India’s first integrated petrochemical complex leveraging LNG cold energy, aimed at bridging the domestic polypropylene demand-supply gap. The project also aligns with the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative, strengthening India’s indigenous petrochemical manufacturing capabilities.
