KPT not to allow box trucks without proper locking

Karachi: Senior Vice President Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) A Abdullah Zaki hailed the KPT's decision for not allowing movement of containers without proper locking mechanism to prevent any incident of slipping/falling off containers from trailers.

He said, 'It will certainly prevent fatal accidents on roads as well as protect the property (container) more effectively.' Zaki added that this is an optimistic and pragmatic approach of KPT because such incidents take place mainly due to the reason that containers are fastened by rods instead of locking with proper devices, and in some cases even rope fastening is not done properly.
