"Kone Elevators Establishes Test Tower and Labs at Sriperumbudur Facility"

Kone Elevators India, a subsidiary of the Finland-based Kone Corporation, has recently established a cutting-edge elevator Research and Development (R&D) facility, complete with a test tower and state-of-the-art laboratories, at its Sriperumbudur manufacturing complex near Chennai.

The newly constructed testing tower is equipped to conduct a wide range of speed tests, including high-speed elevator evaluations. This R&D facility is tailored for conducting a variety of quality and reliability assessments, as outlined in an official statement.

Henrik Ehrnrooth, President and CEO of Kone Corporation, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, "The test tower and R&D center are positioned to address the current needs of the elevator and escalator market while also meeting the future demands of our valued customers."

With nearly four decades of experience in elevator manufacturing, Kone in India is now diversifying its offerings by entering the escalator production sector. The inaugural batch of escalators, produced at this advanced facility, underwent rigorous testing within the newly established state-of-the-art laboratories.

Amit Gossain, Managing Director of Kone India, emphasized the company's commitment to serving the current and future requirements of the elevator industry, both within India and for international markets.
