Keolis Secures 10-Year Contract to Operate Pune Metro Line 3.
Pune IT City Metro Rail Ltd. (PITCMRL), a joint venture of Tata and Siemens, has awarded a 10-year contract to Keolis to operate Pune Metro Line 3, also known as the Puneri Metro.
This new metro corridor is currently under construction and will span 23.3 kilometers from Hinjawadi to Civil Court, featuring 23 elevated stations.
For Keolis, a global leader in public transit, this new partnership marks a strategic expansion of its presence in India's rapidly growing transportation sector. The company has been in India since 2012 and already operates the L&T Metro Rail in Hyderabad. With the addition of Pune Metro Line 3, Keolis will further solidify its position in the country's mobility market.
Pune Metro Line 3 is being developed under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. In August 2025, the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) unveiled the first look of the line's trainset after two successful trial runs. The first trial took place in early July between Hinjawadi and Shivajinagar, with a second trial at the end of July on a 4 km stretch between the Maan Depot and Station PMR04.
