Karnataka to Sign MoUs with Foreign, Indian Universities for ‘KWIN’ Ahead of GIM 2025.

In preparation for the upcoming Global Investor Summit 2025 (GIM 2025), Karnataka’s Minister for Large and Medium Industries, MB Patil, announced that the state plans to sign Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with 5-6 foreign universities and 6-8 Indian universities. These agreements aim to establish institutions within Karnataka's forthcoming Knowledge and Innovation Hub, ‘KWIN’.

Patil explained that the focus of GIM 2025 will extend beyond industrial investments to include research, skill development, and ancillary sectors, which are essential to building a highly skilled workforce.

The state has invited several prominent Indian universities and institutions to participate in the event, including Azim Premji University, PES University, MS Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Dayananda Sagar University, Chanakya University, St. Joseph’s University, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Amity University, BLDE University, Christ University, Jain University, and KLE University.

The KWIN-City project, to be developed on approximately 5,000 acres between Doddaballapur and Dabaspet, will serve as a hub for education, healthcare, research, and innovation. The initiative aims to bring together leading institutions and industries to accelerate Karnataka’s growth in these key sectors.
