Karnataka Poultry Association Inks MoU with ICAR Institute to Advance Research
Karnataka Poultry Farmers and Breeders Association (KPFBA) have formalized a collaborative effort by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indian Council of Agricultural Research–Directorate of Poultry Research (ICAR-DPR) to enhance research initiatives in the poultry sector.
The MoU, inked by Naveen Pasuparthy, President of KPFBA, and R.N Chatterjee, Director of ICAR-DPR, Hyderabad, outlines plans for conducting regular technical seminars, webinars, workshops, and joint publications as needed. The aim is to address challenges in both commercial and backyard poultry farming through comprehensive research, focusing on aspects such as disease management and improving feed conversion ratio.
Expressing the need for in-depth research to ensure the sustainability and profitability of poultry farming, Pasuparthy highlighted that the sector faces various challenges that require meticulous attention. He emphasized the association's commitment to collaborating with academic and other institutions to enhance the poultry farming community's knowledge and practices.
Chatterjee acknowledged the significance of this collaboration, emphasizing that it would provide researchers with valuable on-the-ground information, contributing to a more informed and effective approach to addressing challenges in the poultry sector. The partnership between KPFBA and ICAR-DPR is poised to foster advancements and innovations in poultry farming through joint research efforts and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
