Karnataka Intensifies Push for State Defence Corridor.

Amidst reports of Andhra Pradesh's Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressing interest in relocating Hindustan Aeronautics Limited's (HAL) Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) and Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) production facilities from Karnataka, Karnataka's Minister for Large and Medium Industries, M.B. Patil, has announced his intention to push the Centre for a dedicated Defence Corridor within his state.

Patil emphasized Karnataka's significant contribution to the national defense and aerospace industry, stating that the state accounts for 65 percent of the sector. He asserted that Karnataka "rightfully deserves the sanctioning of a Defence Corridor based on merit."

Speaking to the media, Minister Patil confirmed his immediate plans: "I will visit New Delhi shortly to urge the Centre to approve the Defence Corridor project for our State." The move comes as Karnataka aims to solidify its position as a leading hub for defence manufacturing and innovation.
