Karnataka govt earmarks Rs 17,000 crore for Krishna project

Karnataka has earmarked a whopping Rs 17,000 crore to spend in the next seven years to take up pending irrigation projects in the Krishna river valley to utilize its share of waters.

The government would soon devise plans to increase the height of Almatti dam as suggested by the Krishna Waters Dispute Tribunal (KWDT).

The third stage works were being executed at a fast pace to ensure utilization of its share of water.
