Karnataka Approves Centre of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence in Bengaluru.
The Karnataka Cabinet has approved the establishment of a Centre of Excellence for Artificial Intelligence in Biotechnology (AI-CoE) at the Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology (IBAB) in Electronic City, Bengaluru.
The centre will be developed over a period of four years in collaboration with IBAB and the Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms. The project will be implemented with a total outlay of ₹20 crore, aimed at strengthening research and innovation at the intersection of artificial intelligence and biotechnology.
In another decision, the Cabinet has also granted administrative approval for the construction of a new administrative building for the Kalyana Karnataka Road Transport Corporation (KKRTC) in Kalaburagi. The project is estimated to cost ₹20 crore.
According to district in-charge minister Priyank Kharge, the proposed building will also include a commercial complex as part of the development plan.
