JSW: Half of ₹3 Trillion Maharashtra Investment MoU to Be in Vidarbha.
JSW Group Chairman Sajjan Jindal announced that Vidarbha will receive half of the ₹3 trillion investment the company committed to Maharashtra under a recent memorandum of understanding (MoU). Speaking at the Invest Vidarbha 2025 event in Nagpur on Friday, Jindal emphasized the region's critical role in JSW’s expansion plans, particularly in steel and renewable energy.
The company plans to invest ₹1 trillion in a 25-million-tonne steel plant in Gadchiroli, while Butibori will see ₹11,000 crore allocated for solar wafer, cell, and module manufacturing, alongside ₹25,000 crore for a 50 GWh cell manufacturing plant.
Jindal reaffirmed his confidence in Vidarbha as India’s next major industrial hub, stating that the steel investment will be implemented in phases over the next seven to eight years.
