"Johnson Controls-Hitachi Partners with DPIIT to Launch Manufacturing Startup Incubator in Gujarat"

Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning India Ltd. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) to launch a startup incubator focused on manufacturing in Gujarat. The incubator, located in Kadi, aims to provide a robust platform for startups working in select manufacturing sectors, driving technological innovation, sustainability, and energy efficiency, according to an official release.

The Kadi facility, which serves as the company’s headquarters in Gujarat, is home to a state-of-the-art Global Design Centre and one of India’s largest air conditioner manufacturing plants. This facility produces a diverse range of air conditioning products, including room air conditioners, packaged light commercial units, commercial air conditioners, and custom solutions for specialized applications.

Sanjay Sudhakaran, Managing Director of Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning India, emphasized that the company’s significant investments in India have helped establish world-class R&D and manufacturing capabilities, backed by Japanese innovation and expertise.

The incubator will offer comprehensive mentorship to startups, guiding them through concept-to-prototype development, project viability assessments, and go-to-market strategies. It will also assist with securing potential funding, as well as providing support for legal and intellectual property filings, enabling the commercialization of innovative products.
