JNPA Chairman Gaurav Dayal: Work Order for Vadhavan Port Breakwater to Be Issued in 3 Months.

In his first media interview since taking charge as Chairman of the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) in late October 2025, Gaurav Dayal, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the Uttar Pradesh cadre, outlined plans to fast-track India’s largest greenfield port project.

The ₹76,220-crore Vadhvan Port in Maharashtra is set to feature nine container terminals with a combined capacity of 23.2 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) and handle 298 million tonnes of cargo. Dayal highlighted the strategic importance of the project in boosting India’s maritime infrastructure and enhancing trade connectivity.
