"Jabil to Invest ₹2,000 Crore in Manapparai Electronics Facility, Creating 5,000 Jobs"
Jabil, a key supplier to tech giants like Apple, Cisco, and HP, is set to establish a new electronics manufacturing facility in Manapparai near Trichy with an investment of ₹2,000 crore. This project is expected to create over 5,000 jobs in the region.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Jabil was exchanged in the U.S. on Monday in the presence of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, according to a post on X (formerly Twitter). The investment is anticipated to significantly boost the central zone's economy and establish Manapparai as a key electronics manufacturing hub in Tamil Nadu, joining the ranks of Sriperumbudur and Hosur.
The post emphasized that this development marks a major milestone in the industrial growth of Central Tamil Nadu, promising significant job opportunities for residents of Trichy and nearby areas such as Pudukkottai, Madurai, Dindigul, Karur, and Thanjavur.
Additionally, Rockwell Automation will expand its manufacturing presence with a ₹666 crore investment in Kanchipuram, creating 365 jobs. An MoU with Autodesk was also signed to enhance youth skills and support MSMEs and startups, further strengthening the state’s industrial ecosystem.
