Innovation Hub in Two Months.
The work on the innovation hub, a much-awaited centre at the Regional Science Centre and Planetarium, has almost been completed and will be launched within two months.
The hub, the first of its kind in the state and the sixth in the country, will provide an opportunity to even those having no Science background to work with their experiments with the support of experts.
It will be a platform for the common people to carry out their innovations and for the students to get practical support.
The hub, which is a hi-tech laboratory for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Information Technology, has already been launched in metropolitan cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata and Guwahati and will be set up in Science centres at Bhopal and Goa along with Kozhikode.
Apart from the laboratories for the Science subject, a section, 'Tod Fod Tod,' allowing the students and other registered members to break some materials such as electronic products, understand their components and reassemble them or modify them will also be there at the hub to come up at the RSCP.
'The registered members of the hub, with innovative ideas, can work during the weekends under the guidance of the mentors and the hub will be opened to school students during the rest of the days,' says RSCP technical officer Jayant Ganguly.
