India, Maldives Sign 13 MoUs to Boost Ferry Services with Indian Grant.

India and the Maldives recently signed 13 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at significantly enhancing ferry services and bolstering maritime connectivity across the archipelago nation. The agreements, supported by an Indian grant assistance of MVR 100 million, are also set to uplift community livelihoods.

The MoUs were signed for projects slated for implementation under Phase III of India's High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) scheme. The signing ceremony, held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Maldives, was hailed by the Maldivian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement as another milestone in the continuously strengthening partnership between the two countries.

The 13 projects launched under this phase represent a total grant of MVR 100 million, equivalent to approximately ₹55,28,47,552. The primary focus of these projects is to improve and expand ferry services within the Maldives, thereby enhancing inter-island connectivity and contributing to the socio-economic well-being of local communities.
