India boosts clean energy with 8,000 TPA green hydrogen project, aiming for 5 MMT by 2030.
India has commissioned around 8,000 tonnes per annum (TPA) of green hydrogen production capacity as of February 2026, Parliament was informed recently.
Under the National Green Hydrogen Mission (NGHM), the government has set an ambitious target of reaching 5 million metric tonnes (MMT) per annum by 2030.
Minister of State for New and Renewable Energy Shripad Naik stated in a written reply to the Rajya Sabha that “around 8,000 tonnes per annum of green hydrogen production capacity has been commissioned in India till February 2026.”
