On Monday, Honda, a leading player in the automotive industry, conducted a groundbreaking ceremony for its forthcoming spare parts warehouse facility situated in Doddaballapura, near Bengaluru.
Managed by Honda Cars India, the warehouse will cater to the spare parts needs of all Honda businesses, encompassing Honda Cars India, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, and Honda India Power Products. The construction project will be executed by Sumitomo Mitsui Construction Company (SMCC).
Expected to become operational by the first quarter of the financial year 2025-26, the facility is poised to significantly expedite the availability of spare parts at Honda dealerships, thereby enhancing the overall customer service experience.
Spanning a total plot area of 1.4 lakh square meters, the warehouse will initially develop 60,000 square meters, including a covered space of 25,000 square meters. Additional areas will be developed in alignment with future requirements.
Located in the Doddaballapura district, the warehouse boasts proximity to key transportation hubs, situated 30 kilometers away from Bengaluru International Airport and 63 kilometers from Honda's two-wheeler manufacturing plant.
Takuya Tsumura, President and CEO of Honda Cars India Ltd, expressed optimism about the new facility's role in bolstering spare parts accessibility in the southern region of India. He also emphasized its significance in preparing for future demands in the era of electrification.
