"Hisense Teams Up with EPACK Durable to Set Up Manufacturing Facility in Andhra Pradesh"

Hisense, a global leader in electronic appliances, has partnered with EPACK Durable Limited (EDL) to set up a new manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, aimed at producing air conditioners and other home appliances. The plant is expected to have a production capacity of 1 million room air conditioners (RACs) by FY28, with operations set to commence in June 2025, the company announced.

Steven Li, Managing Director of Hisense India, highlighted the significance of the partnership, stating, “This collaboration will enhance our manufacturing capabilities and allow us to deliver exceptional products that cater to Indian consumers.”

In addition to meeting domestic demand, Hisense plans to export locally manufactured appliances to key international markets as part of its broader localization strategy.

Ajay DD Singhania, Managing Director and CEO of EPACK Durable Limited, expressed optimism about the venture, saying, “This partnership with Hisense opens up growth opportunities in both domestic and global markets.”

Founded in 1969, Hisense is a major player in home appliances and consumer electronics, operating in over 160 countries. In 2023, the company generated approximately $29 billion in global revenue, with more than 40% coming from international sales. Beyond consumer electronics, Hisense is also active in B2B sectors like transportation and medical technology, with a portfolio of brands including Toshiba TV, Gorenje, and ASKO. The company is also known for its sports sponsorships, including partnerships with FIFA, UEFA, and Real Madrid.
