HFCL Secures ₹2,666-Crore Contract Under BharatNet Phase-III in UP (West).
Telecom equipment provider HFCL Ltd. recently said it has been awarded a contract worth approximately ₹2,666.09 crore by Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) for the BharatNet Phase-III project in the Uttar Pradesh (West) telecom circle.
In a regulatory filing, the company said the project involves the supply, installation, and commissioning of telecom equipment, along with the creation of an optical fibre cable (OFC) network and long-term maintenance of the infrastructure.
The contract includes a capital expenditure (capex) component of around ₹1,192.82 crore and an operating expenditure (opex) component of approximately ₹1,473.27 crore.
HFCL will execute the project over a period of two years, followed by a 10-year operations and maintenance (O&M) phase, which also includes a one-year warranty period.
The BharatNet Phase-III initiative is aimed at expanding high-speed broadband connectivity across rural and semi-urban areas, strengthening India’s digital infrastructure backbone.
