Harish lays stone for Mallannasagar canal work.
Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao called upon the farmers to send back those opposing the construction of irrigation projects.
Addressing various programmes under Dubbak constituency limits on Wednesday and laying foundation stone for canals of Mallannasagar at Dommat village limits along with Lok Sabha member Kotha Prabhakar Reddy and MLA S. Ramalinga Reddy, the Minister said 16,000 acres out of the total 17,000 acres required for Mallannasagar was already acquired and the Congress party has been obstructing acquiring remaining land in Vemulaghat in the name of protests.
“Every step we take is for farmers and their welfare. We are trying to complete irrigation projects at any cost and crossing all hurdles created by the opposition parties. All the irrigation projects in the State will be realised shortly,” he said.
