'Halt of bridge work will not affect NH project'.

The stop memo to the construction of a bridge across the Thettiyar rivulet near the Infosys campus will not affect the ongoing National Highway works, Collector Biju Prabhakar has said.

Mr. Prabhakar in a statement said the National Highways Authority of India and the Irrigation Department would conduct a joint inspection of the bridge. The work was stopped as the existing design of the bridge would cause flooding in the area. The bridge has been constructed in such a way that it affects the flow of the rivulet.

The stoppage of bridge work would in no way affect the NH expansion work, the press release issued recently said.
