Gujarat Gas to set up gas grid in Jamnagar.
Soon, Gujarat Gas Ltd. will provide piped natural gas (PNG) in Jamnagar. A dedication ceremony for domestic PNG in this regard was held at Jamnagar recently.
Gujarat Gas plans to invest Rs. 800 crore to set up a 1,800 km pipeline network in Jamnagar which will cover a total area of around 10,600 sq km. The company is targeting 3.7 lakh PNG domestic connections in Jamnagar in future.
Gujarat Gas will also set up a network of CNG stations and supply gas to industrial users too.
Minister of State Govindbhai Patel along with minister of state Prof Vasuben Trivedi and Mayor of Jamnagar Dineshbhai Patel were present during the ceremony.
The new amalgamated entity, Gujarat Gas Ltd (formerly known as GSPC Distribution Networks Limited) currently has presence across 19 districts in Gujarat and Union Territory of Dadra Nagar Haveli and Thane, which includes Palghar district in Maharashtra. The new entity covers 10,24,799 domestic households and has 2,774 industrial customers, 11,519 commercial customers, 234 CNG stations selling 7,73,000 kgs of CNG per day.
