Grant Road skywalk inaugurated.

The iconic skywalk of Grant Road has been opened for the public. A total of 16 cables support the oval shaped structure on Nana Chowk Junction.

The initial cost of this 585 meter-long structure was Rs. 50.4 crore, but has been made ready for Rs. 43.12 crore.

On the eve of inauguration on Wednesday, Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation's chairman Jaydutt Kshirsagar announced that a proposal will be moved to name the skywalk after Nana Jagannath Shanker Sheth.

As a result of a protest led by MLA Mangal Prabhat Lodha to beautify the bust of Nana Jagannath Shanker Sheth below the skywalk, Kshirsagar announced that Rs. 50 lakh will be sanctioned.
