Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is set to lay the foundation stone for an integrated steel plant of ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India) at Nakkapalli in Anakapalli district on March 23, 2026.
The mega project, with an estimated investment of nearly ₹1.5 lakh crore, will have an annual production capacity of 17.8 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). It is also expected to generate around one lakh jobs, providing a major boost to industrial development and employment in the region.
The steel plant will be developed in two phases. The first phase alone will see an investment of about ₹70,000 crore, officials said.
