Government Clears 31 ECMS Projects Entailing ₹7,877 Crore Outlay.
The Union government recently approved 31 additional projects under the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS), paving the way for the domestic production of several critical components and raw materials for the first time.
The newly approved projects entail an investment of ₹7,877 crore and cover products such as filters, coils, speakers, acetylene black and electrolyte additives.
With the latest approvals, the total number of projects sanctioned under the ECMS has risen to 106, with a cumulative investment commitment of ₹69,548 crore. The projects span 30 product categories across 15 States.
According to the government, 38 plants approved under the scheme are already operational, while another 16 are at advanced stages of construction.
The projects are expected to create 74,628 direct jobs, with total direct and indirect employment estimated at around 2.5 lakh.
