Government Approves 22 New Applicants in Textile PLI Scheme Round-III.

The government has approved 22 new applicants under Round-3 of the production linked incentive (PLI) scheme for textiles, taking the total number of approved companies to 96, the Ministry of Textiles said recently.

The newly approved companies are expected to bring in a combined investment of ₹2,339.14 crore, generate a projected turnover of ₹15,561.34 crore in notified products, and create around 36,217 employment opportunities across the textile value chain.

In total, 96 companies have now been selected under the scheme’s third round, with a cumulative committed investment of ₹12,822.67 crore and an expected turnover of ₹58,294.18 crore, the ministry said in a statement.

According to the ministry, the approved applicants operate across the man-made fibre (MMF) apparel, MMF fabrics, and technical textiles segments. The expansion is expected to further strengthen India’s position as a global hub for value-added textile manufacturing and boost employment generation in the sector.
